Viora Reaction Laser and Botox: The Combination for Tight, Youthful Skin

Around the age of thirty-five, we see diminishing returns for clients who use Botox by itself. Dr. J and all the staff at Miami Skin Institute want each procedure to provide the best results possible. With that in mind, we offer a pair of treatments that work together to restore the appearance and feel of tight, youthful skin. Our most transformative, most popular, and most recommended combination for sagging, wrinkled skin is Botox and Viora Reaction Laser.

Botox + Viora Reaction Laser : A Cosmetic Power Couple

Botox does wonders for lines and wrinkles. However, almost no one wants to look like they’re using Botox. We avoid this by using small, precise injections of Botox along with Viora Reaction Laser treatments.

As a pair, they work wonders.

Regaining Youthful Skin

Botox and Viora skin tightening patients see incredible results.

Many of our older patients are accustomed to Botox treatments. With two decades of FDA-approved usage, it is a household name. Botox injections are commonplace. They’ve become routine maintenance for many individuals. Laser treatments, on the other hand, are a newer technology, and many of our patients are unfamiliar with them. However, products like Viora Reaction Lasers give lasting benefits with minimal (often zero) side effects. When used in conjunction with Botox, our patients look in the mirror to see a face they haven’t glimpsed in years.

Who Benefits from Viora Laser and Botox Combination Treatments?

Patients in their mid-thirties who notice their skin is not as tight as it once was are excellent candidates for this treatment combination. Patients from age thirty up to age seventy see their skin tighten before their eyes with this service. Additionally, patients who find their Botox injections are not lasting as long as they used to, or are not having the results they used to achieve with injections may benefit from the effects of the Viora skin tightening treatments used in conjunction with carefully placed Botox injections.

The Botox Cycle

Botox is an amazing product, and it works wonders for young adults in their twenties and early thirties. When lines and wrinkles start appearing, our younger clients often use a little Botox to eliminate them. As we age, Botox alone does not offer the same benefits it did when our skin was younger. The looser the skin, the more Botox is required to fill it. Some practitioners will progressively increase the amount of Botox used. This leads to the unnatural look we have all seen (and which almost no one has ever desired). Excessive usage of Botox can leave a face that always appears surprised, angry, or sad despite the person’s mood. Faces may begin to look frozen, or a smile may appear cartoonishly curved. In addition, the effects of Botox injections last for shorter periods as we age. This leads some people into a cycle of injections that yield poor results, and are done more frequently. There are no long-term effects from this, but there is the hassle and cost of more frequent treatments.

At some point, it becomes impossible to smooth, tighten and lift areas by increasing the doses of Botox or other fillers without making it look both obvious and unnatural.

How the Viora Reaction Laser Works

Skin has three layers: the epidermis (the outermost layer of skin), the dermis (the center layer of skin), and the hypodermis (the innermost layer). The Viora Laser uses radiofrequency energy to painlessly reduce cellulite while stimulating collagen production and the elastin fibers of the dermis. The results are tighter, smoother skin with better elasticity. Viora skin tightening treatments do not penetrate through the skin. It is a safe, effective treatment with no lasting adverse effects. Viora Reaction Laser treatments are an excellent option for the neck and the face including sensitive areas around the eyes. Viora Reaction Lasers are safe, reasonably quick, and work wonderfully for all colors of skin.

What is a Viora treatment like?

Dr. J uses a mild numbing cream to ensure there’s no discomfort during the procedure. Patients may experience a brief sensation of heat as the device passes over the skin. A day of mild redness in treated areas isn’t uncommon and a couple days of minor swelling can happen. Patients should expect fast and long-lasting results, with minimal recovery time. Most clients will notice some immediate skin tightening which will continue to improve over the next two months. Depending upon the looseness of the skin, patients may wish for more than one session or may wish to return for maintenance treatments in 3-6 months.

Botox Treatment

Botox is FDA-approved, very safe, and will soften wrinkles that have become etched into skin by repetitive muscle movements over the years. It’s classified as a neuromodulator, often called a “wrinkle-relaxer.” Botox is a type of botulinum toxin that helps eliminate fine lines like crow’s feet and other wrinkles caused by smiling, frowning, and squinting. Swelling after treatment is rare and bruising is only an occasional side effect. Dr. J provides numbing cream and ice for patients who request them. To minimize the potential for bruising, we recommend patients stop taking aspirin, ibuprofen, and naproxen (including Advil, Motrin, and Aleve) for seven days before injections.

As a board-certified dermatologist with twenty years of experience, Dr. J provides safe results with her precise injection techniques. Treatments are fast, and involve minimal discomfort. Numbing cream, if used, takes about ten to twenty minutes to be effective. The injections usually take less than five minutes. Please note that pregnant or breastfeeding women are not eligible for injectable treatments.

Viora & Botox: How they work together

We use a small amount of Botox first to eliminate the fine lines and crow’s feet. Our goal is to use just enough to achieve the desired results. After a Botox treatment, we use the Viora Reaction Laser to enhance the results of the Botox and rejuvenate the skin. When used on the face with a Botox treatment, the Viora Laser’s radiofrequency waves (the same wavelength as your radio) are focused to cause contraction of the collagen, thereby tightening the skin.

This technique adds months to the effectiveness of Botox and restores a youthful appearance that is both natural and beautiful. Clients will see some immediate rejuvenation after treatment but the effects do not end there. The radiofrequency stimulation will continue to improve the treated areas for weeks after the procedure. Our clients see better results over time as the effects of the laser continue to improve the look and feel of the skin for weeks after treatment.
